40 Prayer Suggestions For Your Workplace:

  1. Lord, I receive your blessing to be fruitful and have dominion in the earth. All the resources that I have are yours. You have entrusted them to me to manage for your purposes. Help me do so with wisdom and love. In you I am created to be good and express your image (Gen. 1:28, 31).
  2. In Jesus' name, the curse of poverty in my life is broken. You bore this curse on the cross so that I could be free to give, and in giving, experience biblical prosperity. May I now give as generously as you have given to me. Amen (Gen. 3:17-19; Gal. 3:13; 2 Cor. 9:8).
  3. Father, let my life be like a garden, put the seed of your word in my life and till it and water it that I am produce a harvest of righteousness for you. Show me where to sow my time and energy so that I will reap maximum benefit for my family and the kingdom (Gen. 8:22; Ps. 1:2-3).
  4. Jehovah Jireh, instill in me the understanding that you gave me the ability to produce wealth so that I might apply it to your intent and purpose in the earth. Let me not say, "I have produced this wealth," but give you all glory (Deut. 8:17-18).
  5. Oh God, thank you that I am blessed as I go to work and come home. My livelihood will abundantly prosper. My hands are blessed in all that they do. Neither my position now job description at work determines my worth, since you have put me at the top and not the bottom! (Deut. 28:6, 8, 11, 13)
  6. My Lord, I repent of selfish motives at work. Cleanse my life of disobedience and any wrong attitudes toward co-workers or those in authority. Forgive me for spending all I receive on myself when so many around me are in need (Deut,28; Ps. 51).
  7. Praise be to you, O Lord. Yours is the glory and majesty. Wealth and honor come from you. You are my source for life, so I will look to you, not a person or an institution, to provide me every good thing. I am blessed and satisfied. Keep me from the trap of always wanting more (1 Chron. 29:10-12, 14).
  8. Holy Spirit, speak into the chaos of my work world and create order and beauty. Release in me new ideas, fresh insights and practical, positive solutions that reflect the Father's creativity and authorship of all that is good (Gen. 1).
  9. Dear God, I feel guilty when work takes me away from my family. Help me prioritize wisely. Guard me from allowing the non-urgent to rob me of walks in the park. Thank you for gainful employment and the fact that you meet all my family's needs according to your riches in Christ Jesus (Phil.4:19).
  10. Jesus, there are times when I do not like my job. Deliver me from bad attitudes and drudgery. When I work, may it be unto you - not for the praise of men. In all things may I serve you, the Lord Christ (Col. 3:23).
  11. At times, work stresses me out and I lose my composure. I get anxious and worried about many things. O Lord of Peace, descend on me and dispel my fears. Teach me to seek you first and not be troubled about tomorrow. In Jesus' name (Matt. 6:24-25, 33-34; Jn. 14:27).
  12. Satan, the Lord rebukes you from stealing or destroying what I have worked for. In Jesus', I can say that you have no authority in my life or my career. I claim the fullness of life promised to me in the Word and will expect it in every way! (Jn.10:10)
  13. Lord of the Sabbath, even in the midst of my work, grant me moments of rest and refreshing in you. When I am going too fast, teach me how to apply my spiritual brakes so that I may soar like the eagle, with power and grace. As you rest, let me rest. My hope is in you (Ex. 20:8; Is. 40:31; Heb.4).
  14. The headlines frighten me - work is now necessarily a safe place to be, evil lurks all around. Yet even in the midst of horrible news. I will not be afraid, for you are with me. I say to fear that you, O Lord, are my shelter and refuge. Surround my workplace with your angels at all times (Ps. 23, 91).
  15. Perfect Love, deliver me from the spirits of unhealthy ambition, pride and envy. I pray for others in my line of work - bless them in every way. Make me a servant of all, even those the world would consider my competition. Grant me an attitude of humility to reflect Jesus (Phil. 2:3-7).
  16. Dear God, I work hard for my paycheck and I wish it was more. It is easy to covet nice things - cars, houses, clothes. Please set me radically free from the love of money. Grant me godly contentment with what I have, for you are always with me and you are my helper (Heb. 13:5-6).
  17. God, your word says that you want all people to be saved and come to a knowledge of the truth. Therefore, I pray for the salvation in sharing my faith so that I will have a full understanding of every good thing I have in you. Thank you (1 Tim. 2:3; Philemon 1:6).
  18. Rock of my Salvation, the work world is changing too fast. I always feel a few megahertz behind. Just as you reached out to Peter on the water, reach out to me when I am sinking. Help me focus my eyes on you, not the waves, and keep stepping out in total trust (Matt. 14).
  19. Creator of all, thank you for the equipment I have to work with. Keep it functioning according to its design and grant me skill to use it to the best of your ability working through me. Anoint the "tools of my trade" for your purpose and give me wisdom in how I employ them (Ex.31:1-5).
  20. Jesus, sometimes nothing goes right at work. I make mistakes; deals fall through; I get injured. Reveal to me that in all things you work for my good because I love you and am called according to your purpose (Rom. 8:28).
  21. When I am surrounded by criticism, foul language or harsh words, let my conversation be always full of grace and seasoned with the salt of your word. Grant me answers that reflect you and bear witness to your character in me (Col. 4:6).
  22. Lord, I want my thought life on the job to honor you. O pray that any self-serving or unwholesome ideas I might have would be quickly and completely dismissed out of my devotion to you and my desire for holiness. In Jesus' name, I take captive my thoughts to abide in you (2 Cor. 10:5; 1 Pet. 1:16).
  23. My Redeemer, deliver me from complaining, arguing and the need to prove myself "right." Instead, I want to trust you to vindicate me before my co-workers and supervisors, especially when I am under fire. Grant me discernment and integrity fitting the name "Christian" (Phil. 2:14; Lk.18:7).
  24. As I walk through my workplace, I set my feet on the ground to claim it for you, God. Give me insight into what I see around me and make me sensitive to needs that I might pray about. Impress upon me your will for my workplace (Josh. 1:3).
  25. Father, set me in agreement with you and others who are praying for the marketplace in America. May we pray according to your divine perspective and not our own. Answer our prayers so that Jesus' name will be exalted throughout cities and communities, not just in churches (Matt.18:19).
  26. Each time I pray these prayers, remind me that you have given us the keys to the kingdom. In you, we have authority to bind evil and release good. That means I can make a difference! I am never helpless because you are my God. May your will be done in my workplace as it is in heaven (Matt.16:19).
  27. Jesus, even when I do not agree with supervisors, teach me to honor them by praying for them, so that I may live a peaceful and quiet life in all godliness and holiness. May I learn to trust and obey and thus eat the good of the land (Rom. 13:1-7, 15:30; 1 Tim 2:2; Is. 1:19).
  28. Lord of Truth, I work in a world where contracts and agreements hold much significance. In light of that, I pray that the New Covenant established by the blood of Jesus on the cross will be the standard of truth where I work and in my community (Jer. 31:31-34; Ex.34:10; 1 Cor.11:25).
  29. Sometimes the cost of living today seems out of reach. I struggle to manage credit cards, car loans and mortgages. I speak to these financial concerns and command them to be cast into the sea of His bounty. Grant me self-control over my spending. Let God be praised! (Mk. 11:23; 2 Tim.1:7)
  30. Yes, Lord Jesus, Godliness and contentment are of great gain! Keep me from the lie of get-rich-quick schemes that promise something for nothing. Instill in me your work ethic. Teach me to pursue righteousness, faith, love, endurance and gentleness so that I may finish the race (1 Tim.6:6, 9-12).
  31. As I fellowship with the Holy Spirit, show me ways I can perform spontaneous acts of kindness in the work world. Nudge me to pick up trash, wipe off a sink, straighten items on a shelf, not for recognition or gratitude, but simply as a blessing to someone else (2 Cor. 13:14; 1 Tim. 5:25; Col. 3:17).
  32. God, as I work constantly for material things, increase my understanding that all I can take to heaven is what I invest in others for you. Give me a healthy perspective of "stuff," but a passion for souls. I want to store up godly deeds that will have value for eternity (Job 1:21; 1 Tim. 6:7; Rev. 14:13; Matt 6:20).
  33. Good Shepherd, my needs are met and in many ways I am rich. Teach me the importance of giving the first 10% of my income back to you. I pray also for the grace to abound in spontaneous love offerings to those in need. And they will thank you! (Prov. 3:9-10; Mal. 3:10; 2 Cor. 9-11)
  34. I pray for those whom you have placed in authority over me at my job and all who oversee in the work world. Mold them into Christlike leaders - compassionate, fair, strong and humble. Grant them the respect of their followers, and keep them from pride and evil (Rom 13:1; Ex. 17:8-13).
  35. O God, you are my God. I will greet you early when I wake up and I will seek you on my way to work because my soul thirst for you. Your love is better than life. When I feel lonely at work. Make your presence known to me. I will sing in the shadow of your wings (Ps. 63:1, 3, 7).
  36. O Wisdom of days, Grant me a discerning mind and a deep respect for you. Let me not just accumulate information and facts, but teach me your ways. Give me wisdom to negotiate life successfully. May I cling to your precepts and apply them at work (Prov. 1:3, 7, 9:10).
  37. When I am insulted by friends and co-workers because I am a Christian. I will rejoice, knowing that I am blessed. The Spirit of glory and of God rests on me. After I have shared in Christ's suffering, he will restore me and make me strong. To him be glory forever! (1 Pet. 4:13-14, 5:10; Jn. 15:20)
  38. Holy One, I am tempted at every turn in the work world. Keep me from evil, I pray. Let the enemy have no foothold in my life. Let me be a light in dark places. Grant me a way and the courage to escape when faced with opportunity to sin. Amen (1 Pet. 1:15; Phil. 2:15; 1 Cor. 10:13).
  39. Thank you, God, that I am your workmanship, created in Christ Jesus to do good works which you have prepared in advance for me. May I simply walk in the work you do. Deliver me from the pressure to produce and the anxiety it causes. Let your good works flow in my life (Eph.2:10).
  40. Thank you, Lord, for letting me reap what I sow. It is fun watching you work. I pray to please the Spirit and not grow weary in doing good, for I shall reap a good harvest at the proper time. I dedicate my job and my future to you for your glory and praise forever and ever (Gal. 6:7-9; Eph.1:12).
