Updates - 18th September 2009
Dear saints and friends of Tabernacle of Joy and the Willoughby Family:
Jesus stated of his people that “My sheep hear my voice, and I know them, and they follow me” (John 10:27, KJV).
On Tuesday, Bro. Willoughby had an MRI of the head which revealed no new developments. The following day, a CT scan located several new places in his chest that the doctor states is compatible with melanoma metastases, or new growths of cancer. Although this is not the report we expected, we have determined to continue to believe that He will always do right by us. Over the past months, we have walked a journey of faith and love with each one of you and wish to express our gratitude for the prayer and encouragement that has poured into Singapore by phone and email.
Spurgeon stated, “We should follow our Lord as unhesitatingly as sheep follow their shepherd, for…Wherever Jesus may lead us, He goes before us. If we know not where we go, we know with whom we go. With such a companion, who will dread the perils of the road?...We should follow Christ in simplicity and faith, because the paths in which He leads us all end in glory and immortality. It is true they may not be smooth paths--they may be covered with sharp flinty trials, but…"All the paths of the Lord are mercy and truth unto such as keep His covenant." Let us put full trust in our Leader, since we know that, come prosperity or adversity, sickness or health…His purpose shall be worked out, and that purpose shall be pure, unmingled good to every heir of mercy.”
Bro. Willoughby stands confident in God’s love and believes His perfect purpose will be achieved. Thank you for your continued prayer and support for Bro. Willoughby, Meghan, Barak and Mikayla during this time.
