How many times have we looked into the mirror and seen failure, weakness and hopelessness? But look into the word of God and we see the exact opposite. His word says “I’m victorious”. No, God doesn’t see you the way you see yourself. He sees His work and His child.
He reaches out and offers the key to unlocking the potential we have in Christ. Grace.
Grace is different from mercy. Mercy is preservation from the judgment and punishment we deserve. Grace is a gift we don’t deserve; a transformation that promises a new identity, nature and purpose, with the corresponding power and authority to live in it.
Grace is the God-given desire, power and ability to please Him and accomplish His will.
But how do we access this grace? Entering into it is a process.
The Process of Grace
1. I am saved by grace
“Being justified freely by His grace through the redemption that is in Christ Jesus:” Romans 3:24 (KJV)
He said “It is finished,” not “you are finished!”
2. I’m standing in the grace of God
“By whom also we have access by faith into this grace wherein we stand, and rejoice in hope of the glory of God.” Romans 5:2 (KJV)
We can come boldly before the throne of grace only if we are standing in the knowledge that we are children of God.
3. I am progressing, growing and strengthening in the ultimate power of grace
“That he would grant you, according to the riches of his glory, to be strengthened with might by his Spirit in the inner man;” Ephesians 3:16 (KJV)
